It all begins with an idea.

I am a retired high school mathematics teacher with over 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience. During this time, I have students have benefitted from tutoring. Not only do students tend to improve their conceptual understanding, but I have seen improvements in self-confidence and in attitudes towards mathematics.

It is an unfortunate reality that not all students have access to quality tutors. Typically, tutoring services are limited to students from advantaged families who can afford to pay for these services. As a passionate educator, I believe that more students would benefit from tutoring if more families could afford it.

My initial goal is to provide quality tutoring services on a sliding scale so that students from all families can benefit from supplemental instruction. Towards this goal, The Foundation will begin an assertive grant writing campaign to purchase and operate Mathnasium franchises. Profits from the franchises will be used to subsidize tutoring costs. Finances should not deter families from providing their children with a quality education.

This is the Math for All Students! initiative.
